A young man, Henry Letham (Ryan Gosling) survives briefly an accident car at Broolkyn Bridge while drives in company of his parents, (Bob Hoskins and Kate Burton) and girlfriend, Athena (Elizabeth Reaser). During few minutes, before to die or get a comma, he recreates a parallel world where a psychiatrist, Sam Foster (Ewan McGregor) will try to avoid he gets suicide. All persons witness of the accident appear in these world between life and death, performing different roles who drive a confused doctor Foster into apparent madness.
